Savings Goal Tracker in Personal Finance

The Savings Goal Tracker is a copy-ready spreadsheet for running several savings goals at once — an emergency fund, a vacation, a new car — without losing track of any of them. Set each goal's target and your monthly contribution, and it shows the percent complete, a progress bar, and the date you'll hit each goal, in both Google Sheets and Excel.

Trust FAQ

Questions people ask before copying a template

What is a sinking fund, and how does this template handle it?
A sinking fund is money set aside gradually for a specific future expense. This template gives each goal its own row with a target, contribution, and auto-calculated completion date, so you can run many sinking funds side by side and see them all progress.
Can I track more than one savings goal at a time?
Yes — that's the point. Add a row per goal and the tracker shows each one's progress bar, percent complete, and estimated finish date independently, with a grand total across all goals.
Is the Savings Goal Tracker free?
Yes, the core template is free to copy and keep in Google Sheets or Excel. There is no paid tier — the free download includes all goal slots and charts.
