How to Plan Pool Service Routes in a Spreadsheet
Pool techs lose hours driving across town because stops were added without reordering the week. A free pool route schedule spreadsheet lists customers, day, stop order, service type, and done status for phone use on the route.
Build the week by geography
Columns:
- Service day — Mon–Fri buckets
- Stop order — drive sequence, not alphabet
- Customer / address
- Service type — full service, chemicals only, filter clean
- Done — checkbox when complete
Filter today’s day each morning — that is the only list the tech needs.
Skipped stops surface churn risk
Highlight scheduled but not done by end of day. Missed pools green up fast in summer heat — proactive call beats angry Monday texts.
Pair route with billing and chemistry
- Billing: every stop on the route should exist on the pool billing sheet.
- Chemistry: log readings on the pool chemical log per visit for liability and dosing consistency.
When route software wins
GPS optimization and customer text notifications matter at multi-crew scale. Solo operators and small teams often reorder stops in Sheets after every neighborhood batch acquisition.
These templates are route planners, not certified pool operator training records unless you design them to meet local requirements.
