  • Unit cost

  1. Open the Inventory tab and replace the sample rows with your own — one row per entry. Formulas fill in automatically for new rows.
  2. Keep one row per SKU. Update On hand after deliveries and at each count; it's built to be edited on a phone in the stockroom.
  3. Stock status turns red at the reorder point. Stock value (on hand × unit cost) is totalled on the Summary tab.
  4. Using Google Sheets? Upload the file to Google Drive, then open it with Google Sheets (or File → Import in an open sheet). Formulas, dropdowns and highlights carry over.

The file opens locally on your device — nothing is uploaded, and you own the copy outright.

Trust FAQ

Questions people ask before copying a template

How does the low-stock alert work?
Set a reorder point for each item, and conditional formatting highlights any SKU that drops to or below it — so you can reorder before you run out, just by glancing at the sheet.
Can it track inventory value?
Yes. It multiplies quantity by unit cost per item and totals it, so you always know the current value of your stock on hand.
Is the Inventory Tracker free?
Yes, the core template is free to copy and keep in Google Sheets or Excel. There is no paid tier — the free download has everything you need to start.
