Columns (grey = calculated for you)

  • Category
  • Line item
  • Basis
  • Grant request
  • Cash match
  • In-kind match
  • Line total
  1. Open the Budget lines tab and replace the sample rows with your own — one row per entry. Formulas fill in automatically for new rows.
  2. Write the cost basis for every line (e.g. 0.5 FTE × salary); reviewers check the math against your narrative.
  3. Set your indirect rate on the Budget summary tab and confirm what the funder excludes from the base. The summary gives request, match and project totals.
  4. Using Google Sheets? Upload the file to Google Drive, then open it with Google Sheets (or File → Import in an open sheet). Formulas, dropdowns and highlights carry over.

The file opens locally on your device — nothing is uploaded, and you own the copy outright.
